Updated: Aug 7, 2023

The meeting was called to order at 11:00 a.m. by President Tim Mahoney.

President Mahoney welcomed members, new attendees, old friends, and colleagues and explained that the agenda for the day would be the regular NETCO business meeting, followed by the Great Town Hall Session, featuring members of the Travis County delegation.

The minutes were approved as submitted.

There was no new or unfinished business.

The Great Town Hall proceeded, moderated by President Mahoney, with featured guests:

· Rep. Vikki Goodwin, District 47

· Rep. Donna Howard, District 48

· Rep. James Talarico, District 50

· Rep. Lulu Flores, District 51

The lawmakers provided an overview of the highs and lows of the legislative session, pending and future issues and the challenges moving forward. There was also discussion of supporting Democratic candidates from other jurisdictions and doing whatever is necessary to try and gain any semblance of an advantage.

Following a question-and-answer period, President Mahoney thanked the guests and adjourned the meeting and Town Hall. To view the video from the Town Hall: visit website: https://www.netcodems.com/meetings.

The next meeting of the Northeast Travis County Democrats will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 19 at Tres Amigos Restaurant, 7535 Highway 290 East.
